Home

I began this journey because after years of owning my own funeral home I discovered there are a lot of people that simply "have no idea where to begin" when it comes to funeral planning. To be perfectly honest, if it wasn't for the fact that I'd been exposed to funerals and the industry at an early age, I'd probably be clueless myself.

Early on I set out to find a way to educate my peers on the subject of death, to no avail. Then came COVID-19, and much like how I was pushed into my destiny of becoming a funeral home owner, I finally discovered the proper platform for the message I was trying to get out into the world. My hope is that you gain peace and comfort from the assistance this tool gives you.

Stephanie E. Strawbridge is the owner and operator of Strawbridge Memorial Chapel, the first funeral home in Cleveland, OH to be established by an African American woman.

Stephanie is an honors graduate of Central State University. She has worked in and around the funeral industry since 1989 and became a Licensed Funeral Director in 2007. She is passionate about her work and feels honored to be able to serve the families in her community. Stephanie says "this business is more than a career to me; it's a ministry".

Very recently Stephanie added Author to her resume. After spending years wondering how to educate her generation on the ins and outs of funeral planning, her how to workbook was birthed; "You're Gone; Now What - Everything "they" didn't tell you about planning a funeral."
